Allen Dean Jensen

Allen Jensen, age 82 of Ankeny, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. A graveside service will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, IA on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m a luncheon will be held at the McCreary Center following the graveside.. Memorials will be given to Allens family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com. Allen Dean Jensen was born on April 26, 1940 at Blair, NE to James and Regina (Dorzinski) Jensen. He attended school at Rippey and Minburn graduating with the class of 1958. He served in the United States Marines from 1960 to 1966. He was united in marriage to Linda Lou Madren at Princeton, MO on December 6, 1960. He worked for John Deere in Ankeny for 30 years, farmed near Madrid, IA, and after retiring from John Deere he drove truck for United States Postal Service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ankeny, IA and the John Deere retirees group. He enjoyed working with animals, farming, square dancing, travelling and visiting with family and friends. In death he rejoins his parents, James and Regina Jensen. Left to cherish Allens memory are his wife Linda Jensen, Ankeny, IA, son, James Jensen, Madrid, IA, daughter, Debbie Simmer (Jonathan Koughn), Perry, IA, granddaughter, Jessica Simmer (William Lifer Jr.), Perry, IA, sister, Adele Clermont, Pueblo, CO and numerous nieces and nephews.
