Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Monday June 29, 2020 at Caldwell Parish Funeral Home in Urbandale. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions on gatherings, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the family. The Mass of Christian Burial will be live streamed on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 11:00 AM. After Mass the family will proceed to Oakwood Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, Iowa where we will lay Anna to rest. Anna was born June 5, 1994 in Des Moines, Iowa. Her adventurous spirit was soon fulfilled in her youth as a military child. She lived many places including: Okinawa Japan, Dover Delaware, Ramstein Germany, Fort Lewis Washington, Fort Eustis and Fort Lee Virginia and Fort Riley Kansas. Her love of humanity was both global and patriotic; a peacemaker with a warrior’s heart. Anna received her cosmetology license first in Kansas after training from Bellus Academy in Manhattan, Kansas and later in Iowa after attending Aveda Institute. Anna found cosmetology as a way to make others feel good about themselves. She accepted others as they were without reservation and saw it as a way to build other people up. Anna saw the world through the eyes of an artist. She poured herself into her music and fine art with sheer abandonment. Her abilities and gifts were truly extraordinary. She inspired others and challenged herself by always striving for perfection in her music and artwork. Anna was truly unique and showed us a way to look at life unconventionally. Her resiliency and vulnerability shined through every experience of her life. She was loyal to friends and protective of others, especially those she loved. Anna’s exuberance about life was infectious, she taught us to live in the moment and be fearless. Her simple voice was a sweet salve to the souls of many when she shared her innermost self through her songs and paintings. She was and is a true blessing to us all and will be greatly missed. Anna is survived by many who love her, including her parents, Brian and Stephanie and her two brothers, John and Daniel and her sister-in law Jennie Jo. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the family through the Tribute Fund to help with funeral expenses.
