Arlene Beverly Cook

Arlene Cook, 89, of Adel, passed away on October 10, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in West Des Moines.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at the Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a future designation. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.caldwellparrish.com.

Arlene Beverly Cook was born on September 11, 1933 to Roy and Clara (Herkey) Hutton. She was a graduate of Emmetsburg High School. Over the years, she worked as a legal secretary.

Arlene enjoyed playing bingo and painting in her free time. In her later days, she enjoyed traveling, especially every winter when she would snowbird down to Texas. While in Texas, she like to make the journey across the southern border to spend some time in Mexico.

Arlene is survived by her two children, Doug (Eva) Cook Jr. and Kathy Cooley; grandchildren, Cari, Jodi, and Doug III (Jennifer); along with five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Sr.; sister, Phyllis (LeRoy) Twait; and son-in-law, Joseph Cooley.
