Arnold P. Whitney

Arnold Whitney, 97, of Redfield, Iowa, passed away following an automobile accident on September 20.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, at the United Methodist Church in Redfield, following a public visitation that begins at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at the Harper Cemetery near Redfield.

Arnold was born on February 17, 1925, to Paul and Evelyn (Clark) Whitney at home in Kennedy Station, Iowa.

Arnold graduated from Redfield High School in 1943. He served in WWII until he was honorably discharged. After the war, he farmed and worked various jobs in and around the Des Moines area.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Hazel Whitney (2017), Dora (Whitney) Weideman (2010), brother-in-law Jim Weideman (2017) and nephew Greg Weideman (1976)

Arnold is survived by his nephews and nieces, Jeff (Aimee) Weideman of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Sue (Bruce) Light of Gowrie, Iowa, Sandy (Curt) Sloan of Center Point, Iowa, Mitch (Anne) Weideman of Center Point, Iowa, and Anne (Tony) Dailey of Fort Dodge, Iowa. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephews, Megan (Adam) Kulow, Kevin (Krystal) Light, Nick (Leila) Sloan, Hannah Sloan, Haley Weideman, Abbey Weideman, Stephanie Dailey and Allison Dailey, and a great-great nephew Wyatt Kulow. Also, cousins residing in Texas, Illinois, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Florida.

Arnold will be missed by many but left us many great memories.
