Barbara Schuchard Lenninger

January 18, 1944 — January 30, 2015

Barbara Schuchard Lenninger of Griswold, formerly of Winterset, went home to be with our Lord Friday, January 30, 2015 at Griswold Care Center in Griswold. A private family memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 4 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Barbara Ann, the daughter of Roy and Geraldine (Terry) Dotson, was born January 18, 1944 in Iowa City. She graduated from Griswold High School in 1962. Barbara was married to Melvin Schuchard on February 17, 1966 and they raised their three boys together for 20 years. Barb worked at various convenience stores in Winterset over the course of thirty years and touched the hearts of many. She was determined to know each child personally while driving the school bus for Winterset Community School District for over thirteen years. She had a great sense of humor and had a knack for making great memories with the family that she loved. Barb especially enjoyed her trips to Colorado and seeing the Garden of the Gods. Most of all, Barb cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Dan (Tammi) Schuchard of Des Moines and Mike (Sarah) Schuchard of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Christine (Josh Robben), and Ella, Jack, Paul, and John Schuchard; great-grandchildren, Shealyn and Tessa Robben; brother, Ron Dotson of Griswold; nephew, Dwight Dotson of Council Bluffs; niece LaChelle Lensch of Griswold; and a host of friends. Barb was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Vincent Schuchard in 2002.
