Bradley Paullin

December 17, 1979 — November 7, 2009

Bradley Wayne Paullin was born December 17, 1979 in Des Moines, Iowa. The son of Robert 'Bob' and Loretta (nee: Stuart) Paullin, he grew up in Peru and graduated from Winterset High School in 1998. While growing up, Brad was very close to his grandfathers. He enjoyed coon hunting with his Grandpa Lonnie Stuart and watching the Chicago Cubs on T.V. with Grandpa Wayne Paullin. When he was a teenager, he went to shoot a 'layup' in P.E. class and fractured his knee, and in the process received the nickname 'Shaq'. Brad was an avid Huskies Fan, and enjoyed watching and supporting his friends while they participated in wrestling and football. Those left to celebrate his legacy include his loving parents, Bob and Loretta of Winterset; his beloved maternal grandma 'KK' Kathleen Stuart of St. Charles; his cherished aunts and uncles, Judi and Daryll Hayden, Jupe and John Harper, Sharon Whitson, and Tammy and Dean Downs; and cousins, Jody and David King, Stephanie and Tim Aldrich, Eric Whiting, Lonnie, Delaney, and Natalie Harper, Maggie 'Magatha' and Emily 'Lu' Downs, and Christopher and Tyler Whitson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lonnie Stuart; paternal grandparents, Wayne and June Paullin; an aunt, Wendy Paullin; and cousin, Sarah Lee 'Cupcake' Harper. Brad loved his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins very much. He was always the first to initiate activities and games during family gatherings. During such activities, Brad always had an imagination and ornery sense of humor. Brad was a devoted friend to many. He knew no strangers and could befriend everyone he came across. Brad enjoyed construction and being outdoors. He traveled around working various projects throughout the state. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking. Most recently, he started Crocker Street Hookers Band where he and his cousin, Emily, were lead guitarists; and Maggie was lead vocalist and Kelsey played the green tambourine. Brad died un-expectantly this past week in Des Moines. He was 29.
