Clint Hauschildt

January 25, 1971 — December 4, 2019

Clint Hauschildt of Winterset, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 unexpectedly at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was 48 years old. A memorial service will be held 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church in Earlham. The family will receive friends following the service for a time of fellowship and sharing. Clint William Dean Hauschildt was born on January 25, 1971 to Tootie and Everett Hauschildt in Creston, Iowa. His family and his friends knew Clint as many things. He was a man of God. Clint enjoyed attending his bible study groups, as he had a natural draw to the teachings of the bible. These groups allowed him to grow closer to God on a personal level. He also loved to have a good conversation with anyone to talk about the word of the Lord. He was a faithful follower, even if it wasn’t in a conventional sense. Clint was also a member of the Winterset Alcoholics Anonymous group. He prided himself in being able to be a sponsor for other members who have struggled with addictions. Clint enjoyed it when he was able to get out and exercise. Not many can say they actually enjoy exercising, but Clint was one of them. A major accomplishment that he completed in his life was a triathlon and running marathons with his kids, all 26.2 miles. If he wasn’t working out, you might have found him hitting up the disc golf course to throw around the Frisbee. Clint was a jack of many trades. He enjoyed writing and at one point in time, he was working on writing a book. He was also a carpenter by trade. Any project that you would need done, Clint knew how to do it and would be the first one to help. He was also known for his great personality. He was a true down to earth guy, unless you were playing him in a game of cards, then he wouldn’t hesitate to cheat if that meant winning. Sometimes he would be caught dancing and singing. In his eyes, he was the best there could be, but to his kids, they may have a different story to tell. Most of all, Clint loved to spend time with his kids. He would do anything to make them happy, even if it meant jumping out of a plane, literally. He was known to be a hairdresser for his daughters. Whether it was to dye hair a new color or give it a new look, Clint was the master hairdresser. If there were any shows about conspiracy theories on TV, you know that he would be there watching it with his son. He also liked to take the kids camping when he got the chance. He loved boxing and watching UFC fights with his kids and brothers. Clint lived life by the phrase - less is always more, and love will always find you. In Clint’s memory, the family would like to remind everyone to always pay it forward and consider being an organ donor. Clint is survived by his mother, Tootie Hauschildt; step-mother, Kathy Hauschildt; children, Destiny (Kelly) Michael, Tyson Hauschildt, Mari Hauschildt, Gracie Hauschildt and Gabe Hauschildt; special friends, Jami and Chris Rodriguez; brothers, Brad (Cindy) Hauschildt, Eric Hauschildt (Michelle Thompson), and Brett Hauschildt; sister, Missy Hauschildt (Mike Bauer); two grandsons; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; dog, Halo; and his two parakeets, Pippy and Max. Clint was preceded in death by his father, Everett Hauschildt; nephew, Andrew Bauer; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Helen Newbury; paternal grandparents, Harold and Viola Hauschildt; his dog, Gus; and dog nephews, Felix, Benny, Bear and Dusty.
