Darlene Mae Davis

Darlene Mae Davis was born January 25, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska to Alva P. Davis and Leola Hansen Davis. She graduated from Omaha High School in 1960. Then Darlene moved to Iowa. She worked as a housekeeper and a desk clerk at the Perry CAB (aka Hotel Pattee). She met Donald Lawrence and the two were united in marriage. They were blessed with a son, William. Darlene was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Perry. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, baking, and singing. Darlene loved her family time, especially when they would go on picnics, camping, and fishing. She moved into the Perry Lutheran Homes Eden Acres where she never missed a Sunday church service. Darlene passed away on May 22, 2023 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry. She was preceded in death by her parents Alva and Leola Davis, her only son William Lawrence in 2022, and two sisters. Darlene will be missed by her significant other Donald Lawrence of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren: Matthew Joseph Warren Lawrence (Susan) of New Mexico and Makayla Colleen Christine Lawrence of Washington; daughter-in-law Amy Lawrence of Washington; sister-in-law Vivienne Ayon of Perry; other relatives and many friends.
