Gary Garrett

Gary Gene Garrett, 69, of Peru died Monday, October 28, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel with burial following in Moon Cemetery in Macksburg, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in his memory. Gary was born on January 17, 1950 in Greeley, Colorado. He attended Orient-Macksburg and graduated from Winterset High School. Gary worked several years at Meredith Printing and then at Larry's Window Services. Following, he spent many years serving several communities as the owner of Bright and Clear Windows Service and later Gary's Enterprises. He was baptized in March of 1974 and was later ordained a deacon at his church. Gary enjoyed playing his trumpet, golfing, gardening, and riding his tractor. Gary was preceded in death by his stepfather, Art Brown; and step-brother, Sam Brown. He is survived by his family: mom, Lucile Brown; wife, Deana; daughters: Lara Garrett (Brian), Chelle TenHaken (Michael), Angela Holtry (Kyle), Rachel Miller (Erik), Tiffany Schulte (Derek); grandchildren: Lacie, Kassi, Richie, Michaela, Rylee, Lane, Jesse, Quentin, Wyatt, Montana, Cheyenne, Elizabeth, Zevran, and Ziva; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Garrett and sister, DeLynn Beverlin; step-sister, Diana Pickering; step-brothers, Denny Brown (Sally) and Gary Brown (Pam); and many other relatives and friends.
