Gayle Kibbe

Gayle Kibbe, 75, passed away Wednesday July 14, 2021 at Azria Health Center in Winterset. A private family burial will take place Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peru Cemetery. Following the burial, a celebration of Gayle’s life will be held at the Peru United Methodist Church, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Gayle Lynn Kibbe, daughter of Weaver Porter and Jaquelynn “Jackie” (Black), was born July 23, 1945 in Winterset, Iowa. Gayle graduated from Winterset High School in 1963. In 1965, Gayle married Andy Goodrich; they later divorced. On May 19, 1973, Gayle was united in marriage with Henry Kibbe until his passing in 2016. Gayle was known for her great cooking and baking. She also enjoyed creating crafts, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was always thoughtful towards her friends and family sending birthday or Christmas cards to numerous family members and friends. Her legacy will continue on in the hearts and minds of her siblings, Toni (Dan) Waltz, Wade (Becky) Porter, Bill (Tonja) Porter, Matt (Sandy) Porter, Cindy Porter, Mary Beth (Bud) Lenz, Ryan (Nancy) Stephenson, Shana (Phil) Smith, Eric (Rose) Stephenson, Gene (Nancy) Stephenson, Lorna Stephenson; brother-in-law Scott (Karen) Kibbe; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gayle is preceded in death by her husband, Henry; parents, Weaver & Veronica Porter and Jackie Carey & John Stephenson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
