Godfrey Oghissa

Funeral service for Godfrey Oghissa, 23, of Des Moines will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, October 17, 2022, at St. Ambrose Cathedral. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior. Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Godfrey "Boy" Oghissa was born in Khartoum, Sudan on March 29, 1999. He was a very loved person; always smiling and making jokes. Never a dull moment. All of Godfrey's life he was full of love for everyone, especially his family. He was the first person to check on all his siblings, cousins, and friends. He went to Holy family Catholic school for elementary through middle school. He graduated from North high school.

Then Godfrey went on to have a son named Elijah Oghissa in 2021. Elijah is the light of his life. He did everything he could to show him love and appreciation. Godfrey is lived on through Elijah oghissa, 5 siblings: Daniella Oghissa, Safari Oghissa, Matthew Oghissa, Anna Portes, and Audrey Lopie. Also, his close cousins the Osman's and Oromos. And lastly his Mother Margret Lopie and Father Justin Oghissa.

Godfrey will be missed very much. He is nothing short of a great person.
