To live stream the funeral click the "Tribute Wall" tab above and then click watch now on the "Live Webcast" Jim Williams, age 91, born in Clinton, Iowa on December 14, 1930, passed away at the age of 91 on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 in Des Moines, Iowa. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, RoseMarie, and their blended family of 7 children: Jim Jr. (Carolyn), Mark (Kelli), Ann Kopatich (Tom), Scott (Precilla), Chuck Young, Natalie Emamian, Lisa Leslie, his 19 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Jim devoted his life to coaching and mentoring young men. Jim is a football coaching legend in Iowa, and remained active as a coach at Dowling through the 2019 State Championship season. His coaching career started with East Dubuque, Il, and moved on to Audubon, Dowling Catholic High School, Iowa State University, Simpson College, and culminated in a 10 year run coaching the offensive line at Dowling during their run of 8 State Championships. Jim enjoyed taking trips to Chicago to watch his Cubs. He loved to play golf with his loved ones, and spend time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Visitation services will be held on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 from 4:00pm-7:00pm, with a mass and funeral services on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 at 10:00am, with a lunch to follow. Visitation and all services will be held at St. Pius Catholic Church. A college scholarship is being arranged at Dowling Catholic High School in the name of Coach Jim Williams with any contributions received. The college scholarship will be provided to a football player that best embodies the qualities embraced by Coach Williams over his almost 70 years of coaching.
