John R. Wiezorek

John R. Wiezorek, 52, of Des Moines, IA passed away at his home on December 15, 2020. At this time there are no services scheduled. John Robert Wiezorek was born on September 15, 1968 in Des Moines, Iowa to John Raymond Wiezorek and Sally Ann (Johnson) Wiezorek. John graduated in 1987 from Lincoln High School in Des Moines. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. John faithfully served our country from 1987 – 1993, during operation Desert Storm and was awarded several medals. After completing his tour of duty, John worked at Wesco, Resco, then worked at Hy-Vee on Fleur Dr. in the meat department. Aside from work John had numerous hobbies. In his younger days he would play baseball, basketball, and played the trumpet in marching and jazz band. He loved to read, play cribbage, chess, and target shoot. Those left to honor John include his mother Sally (Pat) Hubbard; son, Zachary (Cory) Wiezorek; brother, Paul (Julie) Wiezorek; a step-brother, Alan (Kim) Hubbard; sister, Mary (Bill) Campbell; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and his many friends. Preceding John in death was his father, John Raymond Wiezorek as well as both his maternal and paternal grandparents. Memorials can be made out to the family.
