Kathleen Rose Sonntag

Kathleen Rose Sonntag, 59, passed away after fighting a courageous battle with cancer, Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 23 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory. A Rosary service will be at 7:00 p.m. Kathy was born May 16, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa to Donald and Rosemary (Caligiuri) Quinn. She graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in 1974. Kathy continued her education at Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri and went on to get her masters degree from NE Missouri State, Kirksville, Missouri. Kathy was a teacher for over 30 years and loved spending time with her students. She was proud to be part of developing the FOCUS program at Broadlawns Medical Center. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Kathy is survived by her husband, Dan Sonntag; children, Maria and Quinn Sonntag; parents, Donald and Rosemary Quinn; brothers, Kelly Quinn, Dennis Quinn, Mike (Lori) Quinn, Gary (Courtney) Quinn and Sean (Kelly) Quinn; sisters, Missy (Travis) Dehut and Angie Quinn and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family for her childrens college fund.
