Kathy Michael

Kathy Michael, 65, of De Soto died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., Sunday, October 21st at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset. A private burial will be held in the Oakland Cemetery, De Soto. Kathryn Ann Everitt was born October 19, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa; the daughter of Curtis and Madelyne (Jahnke) Everitt and she was raised by her step-mother, Agnes Everitt. She graduated from North High School and later married James Lynn Michael on March 28, 1971 in Des Moines, Iowa. Kathy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed any time spent with family. She enjoyed reading, especially the bible which she was well versed in. She loved her dog Kaci, enjoyed flowers and gardening and was always willing to help others. She is survived by her five children, Paul Michael (Kim) of Springfield, MO; Kory Michael (Chrissy) of Earlham, Iowa; Shane Michael (Shannessy) of Urbandale, Iowa; Brett Michael of Des Moines, Iowa: and Shelle Goodwin (Brian) of Winterset, Iowa. She is also survived by a brother, Robert “Bob” Crouch (Joan) of Columbia, Missouri; nine grandchildren (Cody and Patrick Michael; Owen and Cooper Michael; Bellameira Michael; James Frazier and Jacob, Zachary and Grace Goodwin) and five great grandchildren (Riley, McKenna, Dylan, Madi and Jaxen). She was preceded in death by her husband, her father and step mother, her mother and a brother, Dennis Everitt.
