Kelly Bain

Kelly Bain, 72, of St. Charles, passed away at his home on November 29, 2023.

Kelly was adopted at birth by Archie and Fayne (Goff) Bain on April 9, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from East High School and soon after went to work at Northwestern Bell. Following his time with the telephone company, Kelly began working as an over-the-road truck driver, making many trips across the country for many trucking companies. In retirement, Kelly continued to drive a dump truck for Chadmark Trucking, something that he enjoyed doing.

Kelly enjoyed his little homestead outside of St. Charles and his stone house he built with his own hands. It was a great place he loved to call home. He had a big circle of friends from St. Charles, the surrounding area, and around the country, all who will miss him immensely. Kelly was also a big Ron Paul supporter, even being a delegate for him in 2012.  He also loved listening to music, especially Bob Dylan and playing his guitar.

Kelly recently found and connected with several members of his biological family who will also miss him dearly.

Kelly is survived by his two sons, Thomas Bain (Becky) of Grimes, and Robert Bain of Des Moines; significant other, Marta; as Kelly said, “she was the best thing to ever happen to me”; sister, Molly Bain; and three grandchildren, Jenna, Brandon and Jared Bain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Fayne; and his brother, Tim Bain;
