Linda Borne 'Beem' - Adel

God Blessed William and Dorine Beem on September 23, 1951 with their fourth child, Linda. Growing up in Carlisle and Des Moines, she learned very young how to be a fighter. She graduated from East High in Des Moines and worked at Lutheran Hospital. She met the love of her life, Carl Borne, and they married on March 24, 1972. Taking a step to achieve the American Dream, they moved to Adel, Iowa. She helped Carl start his own business while raising three children as well. As time passed, she found joy in helping others, and would do anything it took to help a friend. She also excelled at planning spontaneous road trips. She was very dedicated to the Adel United Methodist Church as a member, custodian, board member of the preschool, and worked in the Sunday school department. She loved her Family and Friends dearly. She loved to sit outside and enjoy the wildlife from her backyard, or to just sit there and read a good book. Beware of the LINDA LOOK though! Linda's Lord and Savior called her home on August 2, 2014. She is preceded in death by her mother Dorine, father William, and brother Willard. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Carl; her children, Carl, Matthew (Amy) and Sarah; grandchildren, Tobias and Truman; brother, Bill; sister, Marie; many nieces and nephews, plus many more people that over the years adopted her as a second mom, sister, and daughter. Never truly knowing how many people she touched, she will be missed by many. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Adel United Methodist Church with burial at the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call after Noon Monday, August 4, 2014 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel where family will greet friends from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. & 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Linda Borne Memorial Fund at Peoples Bank in Adel.
