Marsha Dishon

Marsha Ann Owen was born December 8, 1950 in Brevard, NC to Harold Warren and Mildred McCall Owen. She grew up in the mountains of western North Carolina with numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. She was a graduate of Massey Junior College in Atlanta, GA, with an Associate Degree in Fashion Retailing. She married Gerald R Dishon II in an outdoor chapel near Brevard, NC on May 28, 1977. Marsha was called home to the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2018, having finished her earthly work, enfolded in the heavenly, everlasting arms, setting aside her earthly coil. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold. She leaves behind a loving husband, Gerald; son, Gerald III; daughter, Estelyn (Justin) Stanley; granddaughter, Tallis Aurora Stanley; sister, Caron (Mike) Surrett; and mother, Mildred Owen. We will miss her smile, her grace, her encouragement, her determination and willingness to be the woman that God created her to be. May we who are left honor her memory, laugh at silly moments and recollections, and recognize – and rejoice in – the Lord’s goodness to us in all things. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, January 18. A funeral service will be held in North Carolina at later date.
