Mary E Nicosia

Mary E. Nicosia, 67, of Adel (formerly of the Quad Cities), passed away May 27, 2016 at Adel Acres in Adel. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Mary was born May 7, 1949 in Paducah, Kentucky, the daughter of Mitchell and Margaret Frances (Minton) Matheny. Mary worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a care taker over the years. She loved spending time with her family and had a passion for music and dancing. Mary is survived by her children, Rosa (Chad) Stocker, Joe (Valerie), Frank (Joanne), Dominic (Atonnia) Nicosia; grandchildren, Brandon, Autumn, Ben, Sam, Joey (Lisa), Tony (Ashley), Ryan (Jodee), Amy, Christina (Amy), Dominic (Jill), Tileena (Mark), Nick; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Josephine, Frannie, Drake, Soyer, Hattie, Natalie, Ann Maria, Madison, Brianna, Bella, Brittany, Peyton, Atileena, Trevor, Aiden and Nadia; and siblings, James, Donald, and Sheila. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Robert, Norma, Johnny, Billie, and Jeff Matheny. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Croix Hospice or Adel Acres.
