Mary E. Stalcup

Mary was born January 9, 1917 in St. Charles, the daughter of Chester and Etta (Miller) Boughton. Mary was a graduate of Lorimor High School. On June 30, 1937, her marriage to Harold Dean Stalcup was broadcasted on the radio in Shenandoah, Iowa. To this union four children were born. Mary is survived by her children, Robert (Vonda) Stalcup of Kirkland, AZ; Donald (Pat) Stalcup of Salt Lake City, UT; Barbara (Gailen) Foreman of Winterset; a sister, Leona Hurt of Ankeny and formerly of Murray; a sister-in-law, Garnetta Boughton of Booneville; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold in 1987, a son, Gary Stalcup, two sisters, Naomi Craig and Elda Olson, two brothers, Elias Boughton and Loren ‘Hank’ Boughton and 6 grandchildren. Throughout her life, Mary lived in Lorimor and later moved to Winterset in 1998. Mary will be remembered as a caring person, who loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Mary died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at home. She was 90.
