Nailea Diane "Nae Nae" Marquez

A service for Nailea Diane Marquez "Nae Nae" was held 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Perry High School Gymnasium. Visitation was held after 11:00 a.m. Thursday with family present from 4-7 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Perry. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was in charge of these arrangements. Pastor Tim Johnson of the First Christian Church provided words of comfort. Honorary bearers were: Sadee Whitfield, Paige Peitzman, Lourdes Marquez, Trevor Marquez, Natalie Haynes and Winky. Casket bearers were: Jon Flores, Herman Benitez, Omar Marquez, Schyler Knoll, Jason Fox and Benji Robles. Recorded music selected was I'll Be Missing You, Be Alright, Dancing In The Sky and Fix Me. Interment took place at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa. Following the service at the cemetery was a luncheon at the Iowa National Guard Armory in Perry. Memorials in her name may be sent to Hastings Funeral Home. Nailea Diane Marquez "NAE NAE", daughter of Manuel Marquez-Alcala and Angela Lorraine Fox, was born May 16, 2000 at Greene County Hospital in Jefferson, Iowa and died November 3, 2014 in Perry, Iowa at the age of 14. Nae Nae attended Perry Community Schools and was currently a freshman. She lived in Perry all her life and was involved in Pulse Dance Team, Showtime Studio, Color Guard, track, cheerleading, basketball, cross country, and she played the clarinet in band and in the football marching band. Nae Nae was a free spirit who hated shoes. She had a tribute in her room to her favorite wrestlers, Schyler and Kane. She loved all food especially burritos from Taco Truck. Nae Nae liked all types of animals and had a pet hedgehog, guinea pig and a cat named "Winky". She was part of the E.D.G.E. program at the First Christian Church. She loved flowers, rocks and drawing. She liked listening to music especially Justin Bieber. Nailea was preceded in death by her grandmother Margaret Fox and great aunt Devota Rains. She is survived by her parents Manuel and Angela, brothers Trevor Marquez of Ames, IA and Omar Marquez of Perry, IA; sister Lourdes Marquez of Perry, IA; aunts and uncles: Misty Hemann (Curtis) of Fort Dodge, IA, Jason Fox of Ames, IA, Jorge Marquez (Patricia) of Mexico, Maria Marquez (Santiago), Javier Marquez (Gabriella); grandpa Robert Fox of Perry, IA, abuela Tomasa Marquez of Mexico; abuelo Javier Marquez of Mexico; many cousins, relatives and many friends. She is also survived by her very special friends Paige Peitzman, Sadee Whitfield, Jon Flores, Natalie Haynes and Herman Benitez.
