Nellie Ruth Mcdonald

Nellie McDonald, 94, of Winterset, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Clearview Home in Mt. Ayr.

Nellie Ruth McDonald was born in Madison County, Iowa on September 1, 1929 to Warren and Jessie (Young) Drake. She graduated from Macksburg High School and was united in marriage to Raymond McDonald in 1957. She was a dedicated homemaker and active farmwife.

Nellie is survived by nieces, Sheryl Moore, Barbara Armstrong, Debbie Waddingham, and Eileen Maynes; nephews, Warren Drake and Mitch Drake. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond and a brother, William Drake.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. Burial will follow in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Winterset Veterinary Center to help fund shelters and adoptions.
