Pamela Sue Vandever

Pamela Sue (Faber) Vandever was born December 7, 1944 in Perry, Iowa to Merle Edwin Faber and Elsina Amy (Foltz) Faber. Pam grew up in Washington Township and she graduated from Central Dallas - Minburn High School in 1963. She raised her five children and had an in home daycare for several years. Pam enjoyed reading, doing crafts, sewing, and making everyone in her family a tie blanket. She worked in the offices at Tyson as an Accountant for 14 years. Pam was a member of the Washington Chapel Church of Christ. She died on July 17, 2023 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Pam is preceded in death by her dad Merle Faber, mother Elsina Faber-Sieck, brother Edwin Faber, son-in-law Robert Husmann, and brother-in-law Walter Kistler. She will be dearly missed by her five children: Richard Vandever (Kelly) of Alpharetta, GA, Deborah Overton (Gregory) of Elkmont, AL, Scott Vandever (Jody) of Ankeny, IA, Lisa Husmann of Woodward, and Tera Watson (James) of Des Moines, IA; ten grandchildren: Corey Parson (Eric) of Dawsonville, GA, Zachary Vandever (Ellen) of Blairsville, GA, Katelyn Telot (Ariel) of Andover, MA, Amber Overton of Kokomo, IN, Sydney McLeran (Sam) of Carbondale, IL, Jackson Vandever of Ankeny, IA, Max Vandever of Ankeny, IA, Zoey Watson of Ames, IA, Jordyn Watson of Des Moines, IA, and Kathryn Watson of Des Moines, IA; five great-grandchildren: Nikki Parson, October Parson, Flynn Vandever, Edwin Telot, and Brooks McLeran; sister Jean Kistler of Perry, IA; sister-in-law Marianne Sanchez of Morgan Hill, CA; other relatives; and many friends. Visitation with family present will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Private Interment will be in Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.
