R. Nadine Trevillyan was born February 24, 1934 in Lenox, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Henry and Sadie Ethel (Cashman) Davis. She grew up on a farm in Union County, Iowa and attended country school at New Hope #3 through 8th grade. She belonged to the county 4-H Club for 4 years and graduated from Lorimor High School in 1950. She later graduated from Thompson’s Beauty School in Des Moines in 1951. Her marriage to Jerry K. Trevillyan took place on September 9, 1951 at the Grandview Park Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa. Nadine is survived by her husband, Jerry Trevillyan; her three children, Lonnie Peacock (Dan) of Winterset, Steve Trevillyan (Sue) of Ames, and Michelle Van Gorp (Verlan) of Des Moines; three sisters, Stella Van Sickle of Newton, Margaret Danielson of Winterset, Virginia Beery of Des Moines; one brother, Charles Davis Jr.(June) of Cherry Hill, NJ; seven grandchildren (Jennifer Neifer (Michael), Jared Peacock (Jill), Johanna Peacock, Emily Trevillyan, Brent Trevillyan, David Trevillyan, and Ashley Van Gorp) and five great grandchildren (Benjamin Peacock, Christian Peacock, Megan Neifer, Logan Peacock, and Jason Neifer). She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, James Dwight Davis, Donald Davis, and Wesley Davis. She worked as a beauty operator at the Winterset Care Center North and several other home based nursing facilities in Winterset. She attended the Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Winterset, where she taught Sunday School, Children’s Church, Vacation Bible School and was active in Ladies Missionary. She enjoyed writing poetry, cake decorating and always added a creative touch to anything she was involved with. Nadine died Monday, March 10, 2008 at her home. She was 74. Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, with family present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., March 12, 2008 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, Iowa. Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Calvary Baptist Church in St. Charles, Iowa. Memorial: Memorial contributions may be directed to the Calvary Baptist Church of St. Charles.
