Ralph Mcdowell

Ralph Raymond McDowell, son of John and Emma McDowell, was born August 24, 1926 in Miller, Missouri and died on June 16, 2007 Delmar Gardens, Henderson, Nevada at the age of 80 years, 9 months, and 2 days. Ralph and his family moved to Rippey in 1930. He graduated from Rippey Consolidated School in 1943. In 1944 he joined the United States Marine Corps during World War II. In October of 1954, he was married to his beloved wife Enid Leaming-McDowell. They were blessed with two sons Dwayne and Tad. Ralph and Enid lived in Des Moines, and they later moved to Bouton and then Perry. He was a Journeyman-Plumber before he went to the United States Post Office in Des Moines, from which he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma McDowell; brothers: Leonard McDowell and J.D. McDowell; and sister-in-law, Juanita Mitchell. Ralph is survived by: his sons, Dwayne Shull of Adel, IA and Tad McDowell (Donna) of Henderson, NV; brother: Leon McDowell (Donna) of Perry, IA; sister: Virginia Wernli (Bernie) of Newton, IA; six grandchildren: Jason McDowell of Maryville, MO; Tad McDowell II (Nicole) of Grand Island, NE; Laura McDowell of Henderson, NV; Dana Sanford (Andy) of Tremonton, ID; Christina Briggs (Seth) of Malad City, ID; and Bryan Scott (Jamie) of Kalispell, MT; brother-in-law: Dean Mitchell of West Des Moines, IA; sisters-in-law: Mary Jane McDowell of Killeen, TX and Janice McDowell of Rippey, IA; 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
