A celebration of life was held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Hastings funeral home in Perry, Iowa. Words of comfort were provided by Elder Josh Daggett of Living Waters Fellowship in Des Moines, Iowa. Honorary casket bearers were Tyler Fessler, Ron Coleman, Tom Coleman, Randy Hackett, Carson Sinclair, and J.R. Fessler. Recorded music was The Walk, Daddy's Hands, Butterfly Kisses, and On Eagles Wings. Robert Eugene Lingner Jr., son of Robert Eugene Lingner Sr. and JoAnn Wigfield was born in Perry, Iowa on July 11, 1959 and died June 29, 2011. Bob graduated from Perry High School in 1977 and received and Associates degree from DMACC. Bob lived in Perry most of life and worked in sales. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Bob also enjoyed bowling, working with wood, and watching NASCAR. Bob built his own garage and was perfectionist when it came to carpentry. He enjoyed spending time with his companion Becky Walton. Bob is preceded in death by his father Robert Lingner Sr., his sister Cheryl Denise Lingner, and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Bob is survived by his two daughters: Shawnda (Thomas) Atkinson of Des Moines, and Shannon (Derrick) Olson of Roseau, MN; his mother JoAnn Lingner of Perry; two sisters; Jolene Galvan (Ciso) of Perry, and Mary Lingner of Perry; eight grandchildren: Tyler Fessler, Skyler, Taylor, Trista, Samantha, and Thadeus Atkinson, Maycee and Madison Olson; five Aunts: Betty Palmer, Fern Waldo, Karen Handsaker, Judy Sinclair-Lankford (Lyle), and Liz Lingner; three Uncles: Wayne, Bill (Helen) and Jim Lingner; a niece Brandi Lingner; four nephews: Darin and Nicholas Lingner, and Christopher and Robert Galvan; and cousins. www.hastingsfh.com
