It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Rosemary Sporleder at the age of 79, surrounded by her loving husband and children on Sunday, November 5th, 2023, in Waukee, Iowa.

Rosemary was originally born in Malaga, Spain, where she first crossed paths with her beloved husband, Charles Sporleder, from San Diego in the early 1970’s. In 1998, she relocated to San Diego with Charles and their five children. As her children embarked on their own life journeys, Rosemary adjusted her location to stay close to them, exploring various regions of the United States. Periodically, she would return to her cherished city of Málaga in Spain to reconnect with friends and family. Most recently, Rosemary made the move to Iowa to be closer to her eldest daughter, Monica and her family.

Rosemary is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Sporleder, and their five children: Monica, Raquel, Charly, Laura, and Virginia. She is also survived by 14 adoring grandchildren: Alexia, Olivia, James, Dominic, Eric, Ana, Natalie, Michael, Victoria, Isabella, Gabriel, Luca, and a couple of eagerly anticipated new additions to the family.

Rosemary is predeceased by her beloved parents, Purificacion Palma Burgos and Manuel Perez Mercado.

A visitation will be held on November 7th from 5:00-6:00 pm CST. A rosary in honor of Rosemary will take place on November 7th at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, commencing at 6:30 pm CST. Her funeral mass will be broadcast live on November 8th at 12:00 pm CST at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following the services, Rosemary's remains will be transported from Iowa to Malaga, Spain.
