Scott Jensen Crowell of West Des Moines, Iowa, died at the age of 61 of lung cancer. He was born September 12, 1961 to Larry L. and S. Karen (Jensen) Crowell in Centerville, Iowa. He was a proud graduate of West Des Moines Valley High School.
Scott began working at an early age with his first paying job of delivering newspapers. He developed a love for cars from his grandfather and uncle and started his career in the automotive world at a couple of gas stations. After a short time in the working world, he returned to Des Moines Area Community College to earn a degree in Telecommunication. Upon his graduation, the communications industry became unregulated and he took his career back to automotive. He used his electronic knowledge to become an expert in drivability troubleshooting. He worked at Bob Brown Chevrolet for over 17 years and then did independent inspections before returning back to a dealership. He finished his career as a Service Advisor at Stew Hansen Dodge City. He was a car enthusiast, especially old Corvettes. He enjoyed the challenge of figuring out the problems. His own 1972 Corvette was his pride and joy.
In September of 1989, he married the love of his life, Jeanet. Together they welcomed three children into their marriage, Jerett, Grant, & Gracie. When he wasn’t working on cars, you could find him at any of his kid’s activities. He loved watching them play and excel at their sports.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Jeanet; his children, Jerett of West Des Moines, Grant (Kylie) of Urbandale, and Gracie of West Des Moines; his mother, Karen (Bill) Bailey of West Des Moines; his sister, Cindy (Paul) Adler of Roswell, GA; his father-in-law, Jay Mosher of Milo; many nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry; his grandparents, Donald & Mary (Casteel) Crowell and John & Vivian (Caldwell) Jensen; and his mother-in-law, Charlotte Mosher.
