Todd Emerick Nutt

March 8, 1962 — January 26, 2022

Todd Emerick Nutt has left the building folks. Born March, 8, 1962; he showed up just in time for the party. Coming up through the "flower children", "long hair, longer pants, jamming to rock albums", "sex, drugs and rock-'n'-roll" eras and everything since…he did a LOT of living. Vibrantly at that. His boisterous gravitas stayed consistent in all his years. Excelling at baseball and wrestling in his school age, he was a lover of music and highly social. Very "Call me the Breeze", even then. All that hard living took its toll on him though, and after years of struggle, memory loss and multiple clinical diagnoses, he caught Covid and just couldn't fight it. Todd passed comfortably and peacefully, on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Listening to stories about his grandchildren, and finally jamming one last time...he made his final hitch-hike outta here, about half way through "Spirit in the Sky" by Norman Greenbaum. Preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie, Todd will join her in rest in his hometown at the Riverside Cemetery. Todd's life and memory are survived by his "little gift", daughter Laura; her mother Tracy; his brother Wes, and sister Jamie; his three grandchildren, and all who knew the real Todd, beyond the surface. His family would like to extend our gratitude to the years of support from his team at Candeo. And our sincerest thanks to the staff members at Jeanie Edmondson Methodist Hospital in Council Bluffs, who truly went above and beyond. Providing Todd and his closest family the chance to ensure his last hours were filled with peaceful goodbyes, some lost time with his daughter put to an end, and he got to jam one more session of classic rock. Nothing wrong with that; we love you Dad. Keep rockin' out wherever your energy winds up, because we are all just dust in the wind after all. Until...well, we'll just know.
