Tom Kile, 81, of Winterset, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital. Gail Paul “Tom” Kile was born April 30, 1941, the son of Paul and Irma (Rehard) Kile. He graduated from Winterset High School and served in the Iowa Air National Guard. He married Rebecca Peacock on October 22, 1971. They were married for over 50 years. Among many trades, Tom retired as a meter reader for the City of Winterset in 2003. He was a carpenter, farmer, worked for Skelgas and Massey Ferguson. Tom enjoyed flying and received his pilot’s license in 1967. He is survived by his wife, Becky; his children, Matt (Daisy) Kile, Tommy Kile, Nicki (Jonny) Kellner; 3 grandchildren, Kami Watson, Ashlynn Kile, and Zachery Holder; 2 great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Lola; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Kile. Tom was preceded in death by first wife, Marilyn Brittain; his parents, Paul and Irma Kile; brothers, Wayne and Richard; sisters, Joan Mealey, Norma Shaw, and Evelyn Coffman. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
