Vera Pruitt

On Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, Heaven was blessed with their newest Angel, Vera Janette Pruitt from Redfield, Iowa. Vera passed early Sunday, October 3rd at Adel Acres, Adel, Iowa. Vera was born in Missouri on March 18th, 1931 to Lena Lucille Moore and James “Archie” Grabill. She married the love of her life, Bobbie Dean Pruitt, on July 14th, 1949. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6th at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Adel with entombment at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening, October 5th where the family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Surviving Vera is her family of six children: her son, Fred (Pam) Pruitt of Adel, Iowa; her daughter, Patty (Jerry) Stockman of Des Moines, Iowa; her son, Don (Cora) Pruitt of Earlham, Iowa; her daughter, Karen (Dwayne) Wilson of Redfield, Iowa; her daughter, Glenda Pruitt of Dexter, Iowa; her son, Terry (Dawn) Pruitt of Stuart, Iowa. Vera considered herself very blessed to have 17 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren, all whom she was so very proud of. She is also survived by her sister Virginia Santa Rosa, CA; brothers Richard Grabill of Bethany, MO; Bill Grabill of Colorado Springs; CO; Harvey Grabill of Minburn, IA; Cecil Grabill of Tenino, WA; Oscar Grabill of Des Moines, IA. Vera was preceded in death by her husband Bobbie Dean Pruitt, her grandson Jason Dean Pruitt, her parents, and her sisters Viola Hickman, Freda Hadley, and 8 step-siblings. Vera loved the simple pleasures of life and asked for nothing. Her greatest joy was her ever growing family and cherished every moment she could spend with them. Whether it was a weekend of camping, a Sunday morning of breakfast and cards, or just sitting on the patio, her family was the source of her joy. Vera knew no stranger and was loved by all who met her. She will be forever loved.
