Wanda Welch

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. A visitation will be held 12 noon to 9 p.m., Wednesday, July 25 at the funeral home, with family present to receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Madison County. Wanda Pauline Wulff was born January 1, 1931 in Greenfield, Iowa; the daughter of Paul and Hanna (Lilly) Wulff. She graduated high school and later attended college. She married Dale Welch on September 16, 1951. He preceded her in death in May 2004. Wanda was a devoted housewife, raising her three daughters in rural Macksburg. She enjoyed painting plates and collecting cancelled stamps. She also liked gardening, often attending local farmers markets. Wanda especially enjoyed time spent with her family. Wanda died Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. She was 81. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Brown (Tim) of Creston, Sherry Bliss (James) of Kinsman, OH, and Cindy Wiles of Lorimor; a brother, Paul Max Wulff, Jr. of Moravia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step grandsons; and three step grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; two sisters, Nelda Fitzwater and Elaine Shelley, and one great grandson.
