Flesher and Margaret Anna (Allen) Flesher. Bud grew up in Winterset where he spent most of his days cruising around town on his bicycle and getting into mischief. As he got older, instead of getting into mischief on his bike, he took his adventures on the road. On December 10, 1966 he married the love of his life, Evelyn (Dolly) Pierce. They briefly lived in Council Bluffs and Adel before moving to Waukee where they put down roots and bought a fixer-upper. For the next 53 years, they built a home and a life full of love, laughter, and family. Bud had an outspoken, bold personality, he gave it to you straight, and could tell you stories for days. Bud enjoyed many things including woodworking, gardening, poker and cribbage. He would always be up to play bags and horseshoes with his family. He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Black and gold were his signature colors. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. Every year he would camp at the Iowa State Fair where he would spend two weeks watching people, eating coney dogs, tenderloins and attending all the shows. However, there was nothing he loved more than Dolly and for 53 years his family was able to witness a true love story. Their life together made us all believe that true love and soul mates really do exist. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dolly Flesher, his children, Michelle Flesher of Des Moines, Ronda (Darrell) Langworthy of Granger, Kris Freerksen of Des Moines, Jeff (Tania) Flesher of Waukee, Janelle (Joe) Valadez of West Des Moines, Brittany (Austin) Morrow of Elkhart, Tyler Flesher of Adel, and BriAnna (Travis) Bass of Des Moines, his grandchildren Andrea, Erin, Zachary, Nicole, Joshua, Anna, Brady, Abby, Caleb, Dylan, Mallory, Andrew, Aylie, Addilynn, Scarlett Grace and 6 ½ great grandchildren. Also mourning his loss are step sister, Debbie Flesher-Christensen, his sister-in laws and brother in laws, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bud was especially close to his nephews, Brandon and Brett Corrigan. Bud was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Margaret, his sisters Christie Friday and Connie Flesher, and step mother Kay Flesher.
