Alan Hawbaker

Alan Hawbaker, 69, of Grimes passed away on May 23, 2017. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Animal Rescue League. Alan was born on December 12, 1947 in Des Moines to Virgil and Margaret Hawbaker. He graduated from Dallas Center Community High School in 1966. He worked for the City of Johnston before retiring. In his free time Alan enjoyed classic cars and dogs. Old Al was a great Husband, Dad, and Brother. He was always willing to help others and gave great advice. He is survived by his wife, June; son, Rod (Valerie) Hawbaker; sister, Judy Loynachan; step-sons, Bill Pugh, Scott Pugh; step-grandchildren, Bradley Pugh and Samantha Pugh. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Hawbaker, Gary Hawbaker, Ron Hawbaker; and infant daughter, Shannon.
