Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Thursday March 31st at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset. Burial will follow at the Winterset Cemetery. Visitation with Family: 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30th at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare. A Rosary Service will be held from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. Memorials: Contributions to the family to be used at their discretion will be appreciated. Albert George Jerome Hill, the son of the late Frank Ebberly and Eva Elizabeth (Bindel) Hill, was born in Baker, Kansas on May 13, 1927. There he was raised along with his nine brothers and sisters. Following school, Albert served his country honorably in the United States Army. During this time, he was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington, and Camp Pickett, Virginia. He was married to Angela Steffen at St. John Basilica in Des Moines on November 23, 1963. To this union they had six children, Anthony, Anna, Arlene, Rita, Arthur, and Steven. Albert worked as a lineman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company and as a heavy equipment operator for Penn Dixie Cement (Winterset & Des Moines). He later worked at Schildberg’s Rock Quarry in Winterset. Albert was a devoted Catholic. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset where he was active in bible study, choir, prayer group, and served on the Parish Council. He was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and a Third Degree Knights of Columbus. In his free time, Albert assembled and repaired Rosaries. He was also a member of the Winterset American Legion. Albert died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset. He was 83. Survivors include his wife, Angela of Winterset; six children, Anthony Hill of Peru, Anna Hill of Marion, Arlene (Chris) Werner of Hopkinton, Rita (Rich) Coates of Cedar Rapids, Arthur (Kris) Hill of Carlisle, and Steve (Julie) Hill of Dubuque; 17 grandchildren, Daniel Coates, Rachel May, Zack Werner, Andrew Hill, Gabe Coates, Jessica May, Devin Werner, Max Werner, Jonathan Hill, Sam Coates, Alex Werner, Nicholas Hill, Addie Coates, Camrun Werner, Nate Coates, Tyler Hill, and Logan Werner; and siblings, Ivan (Cecelia) Hill and Alice Marie Climer both of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings; and two grandchildren, Catherine Hill and Faith Hill.
