Albert Wesley Watson was born Dec 15, 1938 In Perry, IA to parents, Albert and Frances (Grimes) Watson. Wes graduated from Adel High School in 1956. Wes was united in marriage to Helen Lenocker on Sept 18, 1959, at the Penn Center United Methodist Church. To this union was born a son, David. He worked for the Meredith Publishing Company and retired from there after 43 years of service. Wes was an outdoorsman who liked to hunt, fish and loved to camp with Helen. He took great pride in his garden and his yard. He was very community oriented by helping out the Boy Scouts, and was a firefighter for the Dexter fire department for several years. Wes was a caring member of his community and took great pride in the sporting events that took place where he was the Dexfield Bossler club fan of the year in 1993, and in 1996, was recognized for his outstanding support for West Central student activities. Above all, of the pride he took in the community, no greater pride was for his son David in all of his life events through sports, academics and supporting his life, which brought a wonderful family of support to Wes’s world. Wes will always be remembered for the great times spend with his amazing family. His legacy will continue in the life of his wife Helen; his son David (Theresa) Watson; granddaughter Lacey; great grandchildren Alexis and Caden; brother Richard; and sister-in-law Eleanor (Jerry) Stiles. Wes is preceded in death by his parents and brother Don. Memorials may be directed to the Dexter Fire and Rescue or to the Community Care Center in Stuart in Wes’s memory.
