Alice was born on July 11, 1932 to Ray and Mabel (Miles) Myers likely at the family home. She graduated from Van Meter High School and obtained a bachelor’s degree in education from Drake University. After college, Alice became a school teacher and taught in the ADM School District for many years. Alice was a member of the Booneville United Methodist Church and was a faithful member and attendee up until her health wouldn’t allow her to go.
She enjoyed gardening and always had a wide array of vegetables every year. Each year in the winter, she started her seedlings in her home and transplanted them to the garden when the weather turned warm. Alice enjoyed sharing the fruits of her labor and took many tomatoes to neighbors and church friends. She loved being a part of her church family and played the organ for many years. She also taught Sunday school and gave piano lessons to many children. Alice was a very kind and giving person. She loved her animals she had over the years, especially her dog Pixie.
Alice was the last of her family, but is survived by her many friends and neighbors she has grown to love over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Carolyn Myers.
