Alice M. (Hupp) Santi, 94, of Winterset, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the Adel Acres Nursing Home in Adel. A private family burial will be held in the Earlham Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation. Alice M. Santi, daughter of Stacy and Mabel (Chapman) Rhoades, was born November 3, 1922 in Redfield, Iowa. She attended schools in the Perry area and graduated from Perry High in 1940. Alice married Joseph Hupp and five children were born to this union. She was later united in marriage with Aldo Santi in 1978 and the couple moved to Arkansas after they retired; Aldo died in 2004. Alice worked at Look Magazine and as a ward clerk at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was a talented Astrologist and later ran her own business reading charts for people all over the United States. Alice enjoyed drawing and had an appreciation for all types of art. Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory are five children, Ronald Hupp of Oklahoma City, OK; Jimmie (Diane) Hupp of Montclair, CA; Judy (Richard) Kephart of Greenfield; Joan (Tom) Winters of Winterset; Gary (Janet) Hupp of Iowa; 10 grandchildren; many great and great great grandchildren; sister, Nellie West of Altoona; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aldo Santi; two infant sons, Billy and Jack Hupp; sisters, Mary Hohanshelt and Irene Howard; and brother, Richard Rhoades.
