Alonzo P. Garcia

Alonzo “Al” Garcia, 63, of Redfield passed away on August 20, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held on September 22 at 3:00 PM at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home - McCalley Chapel in Adel. A Visitation will be held prior to the Memorial Service from 1:00-3:00 PM at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held after the Memorial Service starting at 3:30 PM. A private family burial will take place at a later date. The family requests casual attire for the visitation and the memorial service. Al was born April 20, 1955 in Los Angeles, CA to Ruben and Mary (Renteria) Garcia. Al graduated from high school in Los Angeles. After high school, Al took some college classes. Al was well known to be a hard worker, well respected and self-driven, which had shown in his skills in being an equestrian chiropractor and training many race horses throughout his lifetime. Al had many hobbies including drag racing, riding a motorcycle, golfing, fishing, traveling, being outside, and his favorite hobby of playing one of his many guitars. Sharing his numerous passions with his family is what Al truly enjoyed. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother. He loved his family, was always there for them when they needed him and was easy to talk with about anything. He will be remembered by many for his easy going warm personality; his kindness, understanding, patience, and generosity towards others; and of course, his love of jokes and ability to tell countless stories. Al will be missed but his legacy will continue in the hearts of his children, Alonzo (Tasha), Rita and Ruben; his grandchildren, Karlo, Jacob, Julia, Ezekiel, Marissa, Kayla and Emily; his sisters, Rita, Elizabeth and Liz; his brothers, Nick and Anthony; his stepmother, Lucy Garcia; and dear friend and significant other, Hilary Butler; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Al is preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Mary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Online condolences may be left at www.caldwellparrish.com.
