Alyce Grace Lane, daughter of Ross Albert Brown and Mae Ruth Davis Brown, was born November 1, 1932 in Arion, Iowa and died January 11, 2021 at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, Iowa. Alyce's family moved to Grand Junction for a short time before moving to Jefferson. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1950. Alyce met the love of her life Clyde Curtis Lane "Buzz" and the two were united in marriage on August 15, 1952 in Grand Junction, Iowa. The couple was blessed with three children: Neal, Dave and Cindi. They lived in Jefferson for several years where Buzz worked for the Post Office and their children received their education. Alyce got a job as a cook at the Jefferson school. Her mother Mae also worked there. Alyce loved working and spending time with her mother. Alyce was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. The couple moved to Sac City until Buzz got transferred to the Post Office in Lake View. Alyce enjoyed making ceramics, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and reading. She loved to cook, but what she loved most in life was her children and grandchildren. They were her world. After Buzz retired, the couple would get in their camper and head to Minnesota and Canada where they would fish. Alyce and Buzz loved traveling together.
