Amelia “Tita” Huaracha de Hernández, 62, falleció inesperadamente en un accidente automovilístico el 23 de diciembre del 2024 al lado de su hijo Javier Hernández, en Rural Boone County. 

Amelia “Tita” nació en Jalisco, México el 19 de Enero del 1962, la hija de Rafael Huaracha Rocha y Angelina Rodríguez Angulo. Amelia atendió la primaria en la Tinajera, Jalisco en donde completó sus estudios. 

En Octubre 10 del 1979, se casó con José Hernández Moreno en la Tinajera, Jalisco. Juntos tuvieron cuatro hijos; Maricela, Jesús, +Javier, y Margarita. Se mudaron a los Estados Unidos en el 1999 y hicieron su vida en Perry, Iowa. Amelia trabajó en Tyson durante 15 años. 

Amelia se hizo abuela de doce nietos, once niñas y un barón, cual ellos la nombraron “Tita” o cortó por abuelita. Sus nietos son Emily, Itzel, Coral, Alejandra, Nataly, Daisy, Andrea, Jesús, Alexa, Ariana, Kimberly, y Yamilet. 

En sus pasatiempos, Amelia le gustaba cocinar, viajar, bailar, tejer, la fotografía y plantar flores. Le gustaba las fiestas y pasiar con su familia y amigos. Amenudo las personas la veían ir de puerta en puerta a vender miel con su amiga, Doña Mari. 

Ella era una persona que siempre apoyaba a sus hermanos, era una hija confiable, era una mamá trabajadora, era una abuelita iconica, y era una amiga verdadera. José el esposo de Amelia dice que ella fue el amor de su vida. Su familia siempre la recordará para siempre.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus hermanos Gabriel y Ramón Huaracha Rodríguez.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 3 de enero de 10 a.m. a 1:30 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Patrick en Perry, seguida de una Misa de Cristian Entierro a las 2 p.m. en la iglesia. Los servicios junto a la tumba se llevarán a cabo el sábado 4 de enero a las 10 a. m. en el cementerio Violet Hill en Perry, Iowa.

Amelia “Tita” Huaracha de Hernandez, 62, passed away unexpectedly in a car accident on December 23, 2024 alongside her son Javier Hernandez, in Rural Boone County. 

Amelia “Tita” was born in Jalisco, Mexico on January 19, 1962, the daughter of Rafael Huaracha Rocha and Angelina Rodriguez Angulo. Amelia attended primary school in La Tinajera, Jalisco, where she completed her studies. 

On October 10, 1979, she married Jose Hernandez Moreno in La Tinajera, Jalisco. Together they had four children; Maricela, Jesus, Javier, and Margarita. They moved to the United States in 1999 and made their home in Perry, Iowa. Amelia worked at Tyson for 15 years. 

Amelia became a grandmother of twelve grandchildren, eleven girls and a boy, whom they named “Tita” or shortened to “Grandma.” Her grandchildren are Emily, Itzel, Coral, Alejandra, Nataly, Daisy, Andrea, Jesus, Alexa, Ariana, Kimberly, and Yamilet. 

Among her hobbies, Amelia enjoyed cooking, traveling, dancing, knitting, photography, and planting flowers. She enjoyed parties and spending time with her family and friends. People often saw her going door to door selling honey with her friend, Doña Mari. 

She was a supportive person, a dependable daughter, a hard-working mom, an iconic grandmother, and a true friend. Amelia's husband Jose says she was the love of his life. Her family will always remember her forever. 

He was preceded in death by his brothers Gabriel and Ramon Huaracha Rodriguez. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3rd from 10am to 1:30pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2pm at the church. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 4th at 10am at Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa.
