Angie Kuhlman

Margaret Angela Kuhlman “Angie”, 93, passed away at the Divine Hour of Mercy on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 8, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines. Burial will follow the Mass at Glendale Cemetery. Angie was born in Cumming, Iowa and attended a one-room schoolhouse through 8th grade. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1946. Angie married the love of her life, Bob Kuhlman in 1947. The most important things in Angie’s life were her family and her Catholic Faith. She prayed daily for each of her children and grandchildren. One of her greatest honors was receiving the Holy Eucharist from Pope Saint John Paul II. She also loved to travel and had many hobbies including needlework, bridge, golf, bowling, reading, and gardening. Angie was a member of the Rosary Society, the Women’s Guild of Sacred Heart, where she was a parishioner for 38 years, and the Clive Good Idea Club. Angie enjoyed her Irish heritage and never turned down a cocktail or an opportunity to share stories of days gone by. Those who spent time with Angie remember her infectious smile, quick wit, and sense of humor as evidenced by her passing on April Fools Day. Angie is survived by children, Mary (Kevin) Hurley, Jim (Dana) Kuhlman, Greg (Debi) Kuhlman, Maggie (Kevin) Lambi, Laure Guisinger, Dan (Maria) Kuhlman, Janette Nielsen, Diane (Rick) Rinehart and Kerri (Ben) Leu; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kuhlman; daughter, Nancy Kuhlman; sons-in-law, Jim Guisinger and Kenny Nielsen; parents, John and Mary Dillon; sisters, Mary Wilgenbush and Rita Kline, and brother Jack Dillon. Memorial contributions may be given in Angie’s name to Dowling Catholic High School, Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Saint Vincent DePaul of Des Moines.
