Anita Garner

Anita Garner, 84 from De Soto passed away February 26, 2019 in Des Moines. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Calvary Baptist Church in De Soto at 11 AM. A burial will be held at a later date at the Oakland Cemetery. Anita was born in Des Moines on December 11, 1934 to Garnett and Roy Koder. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and married Byron in August of 1952. Together the couple had four children; Connie, David, Eric, and Frances. Anita worked as a Claims Examiner for Farmland Insurance and was very active within the church. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, putting puzzles together, and crafting. But, most importantly she loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Anita is survived by her daughter; Connie (Fred) Richards and sons; David (Violet) Garner and Eric Garner, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brother; David Koder, sister; Ellen Mabrier, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; Byron, parents; Garnett and Roy, daughter; Frances, grandson; Kyle, brother; LeRoy, and sisters; Linda and Carol. Memorials can be directed to the Calvary Baptist Church in De Soto.
