Annabelle Kelleher McNamara passed away on July 20, 2021 at Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center, her home for the past three months. Celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic church in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Winterset cemetery, Winterset, Iowa. Tapestry of Life Born in Winterset, Iowa, raised by her grandparents, Anna and William Gordon. Met her to-be husband of 47 years, John Kelleher, at Iowa Des Moines Bank. Mother to three children: Ann (Pati) Rice (Fred), Bill Kelleher (Betty), Coleen Kelleher (Maggie) (Brian Dunker). Eventually became grandmother (“Nonnie”) to 9 grandkids, went on to become great grandmother 14 times, and great great grandmother twice. Following the death of John in 1990, she reconnected with an old Winterset flame, Dan McNamara, celebrating another 8 years of marriage before his death in 2001. Along the way, she gained a step-son and friend, Danny McNamara. Annabelle was a beautiful home decorator (how many times? Let me count the ways), seamstress, needle point crafter, fabulous cook and mostly a wonderful wife and mother. In addition, she recently became a serious connoisseur of cookies. Although shy in meeting people, she was known to be a "sweetheart, a fireball, a force", and she was all of these. Upon her arrival at the gates of heaven on July 20, 2021, her children have no doubt that her first comments to her Lord were" thank you" and "it's about time!"
