Archie Ellis Ore, Jr.

A service for Archie Ore Jr. "Jug" was held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson. Visitation was after 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 with family present 6-8 at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson. Pastor Kelly Grafkjen the Chaplain at Iowa Hospice in Panora, Iowa provided words of comfort. Honorary bearers were: Kim Smith, Lacey Ore, and Brittiany Ore. Casket bearers: Archie Ore III, Rusty Ore, Jacob Ore, Tyler Kokenge, Keith Kokenge, and Cory Kokenge. Music for Archie's service was Daddy's Hands, Folsom Prison Blues, and Me Again Margaret. Archie Ellis "Jug" Ore Jr. son on Archie Ellis Ore and Bernice Connett was born July 9, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa and died October 23, 2012 at his home in Grand Junction, Iowa. Archie grew up in Des Moines where he also attended school. Jug married Joyce Zigler in 1970, while living in Des Moines. He worked in general construction and roofing also in Des Moines. Archie moved from Des Moines in 1982 and worked at Oscar Meyer meat packing, in Perry, decided to live in Perry for a few years. On June 16, 1990 Archie was united in marriage to Cindy Gliem on her family farm in Lanesboro, Iowa. The couple moved to Grand Junction in 1994. "Jug" enjoyed doing crafts, mushroom hunting antiquing and auctions. Archie is preceded in death by: sister Jane, and his parent Archie Sr. and Bernice. Archie will always be remembered by his wife Cindy Ore of Grand Junction, children: Archie Ore III of Fort Dodge, Kim Smith of Des Moines, Rusty Ore of Des Moines, Jacob (Freedom) Ore of Fort Dodge, Tyler Kokenge of Grand Junction, Keith (Autumn) Kokenge of Jefferson, Cory (Erica) Kokenge of Fort Dodge, Lacey Ore of Grand Junction, and Brittiany Ore (Phil Kenoyer) of Grand Jun ction; 15 grandchildren: Kylie, Madison, Collean, Austin, Shannon, Jacob, Ashley, Nathan, Alex, Paige, Haley, Tyler, Payton, Braydon, and Aiden; 3 great-grandchildren: Sadie, Stryker, and Braxtyn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
