Florence Arlene Hatfield Dubuc was born in Orient, Adair County, Iowa on the family farm on September 29, 1933. She died on May 29, 2017. Arlene was the daughter of Vivian Virginia Wallace Hatfield and Lloyd Thomas Hatfield. She was married to Joe Dubuc and together they had two children, Barry Dubuc and Michelle Guest. She is survived by her children, four grandsons, Joshua, Matthew, Jesse and Casey, her sister Anne Casas, and countless nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and generations of cousins. Arlene loved her family, including her vast extended family. Until illness robbed her of her vitality, she was actively involved in family events – weddings, graduations, births, and reunions. She was the family archivist and genealogist and traveled frequently to conduct genealogy research and collect historic photos of extended family members. Her family benefited greatly from her research, and generations to come will one day thank her for the extensive work she completed. Arlene was curious and adventurous, and these qualities were strongest in her position as a travel agent. She loved to plan her clients’ trips with them before they left and hear the details after they returned. She visited many states in the U.S. and several countries in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. Her favorite destination was England, especially the museums and markets of London. Arlene was a vital and passionate person who loved life and the people she shared it with. With her passing she leaves an empty place in all our lives.
