Ashleigh Jo Buchman, neé Miller, age 30, passed away unexpectedly at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends.
Ashleigh was born on September 21, 1992 in Des Moines, IA. Ashleigh grew up in Des Moines and Adel, graduating from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School in 2011. Other activities Ashleigh participated in were yearbook (as a Senior Editor), softball, mock trial, prom committee, speech, and numerous other yearly projects and activities.
While in high school, Ashleigh met the love of her life, Colin Buchman. Colin and Ashleigh were married on June 21, 2014. In this union, they were blessed with 4 children.

Ashleigh loved to travel, having witnessed both the Pacific and the Atlantic and places such as Oregon, Mount Rushmore, Dominican Republic, New Orleans, South Carolina, Denver, St. Louis, Memphis, Orlando, Miami, San Francisco, and Mackinac Island just to name some. Before her untimely death, she was planning a much anticipated trip to Maine.
Ashleigh loved to try new foods and experiences, never fearful of trying anything new. Ashleigh was always working on new recipes to try with her family. Another joy of Ashleigh’s was seeing musical concerts and theatrical greats. Chicago, Hamilton, Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, just to name a few. She got to experience The Beach Boys, Elton John, Cher, Fleetwood Mac, Pink, Lady Gaga, Kiss, and many more.
Ashleigh’s true joy in life were her 4 children, whom she was a stay at home mother to. One of Ashleigh’s dreams was to homestead on a farm. Ashleigh and Colin were lucky to find a countryside estate during COVID-19, where she spent her days homesteading and taking care of her children. Ashleigh loved everything about being sustainable for the future of her children.
