Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of arrangements for Avis Louise (Hawley) Jantz, 98, of Jefferson. Mrs. Jantz died Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church. Family will be there at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service for viewing. Avis is survived by her daughter Sharon Campbell (Daryl) of Fontanelle, IA; son Warren Jantz (Sue) of Broken Arrow, OK; 6 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren and one on the way. Avis Louise (Hawley) Jantz, daughter of Roy Romulus Hawley and Clara Mable Barrett Hawley, was born July 29, 1919 at Jefferson, Iowa and died April 10, 2018 in Jefferson, Iowa, at the age of 98. Avis graduated high school at Jefferson. Avis married Olan Benjamin Jantz on August 21, 1946 in Inglewood, California. Avis and Olan seemed destined to meet, as he was from Oklahoma, and Avis from this area, both winding up in Inglewood. They met at a Sunday School Picnic in Inglewood. The couple moved to Jefferson in 1950 to their present farm north of Jefferson where they raised their children Sharon and Warren. Avis was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson. Avis's greatest love was Olan and her family. She was loved dearly by her grandchildren. They were the light of her life right up to the end. Avis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Mary Bardole (Paul), brother Paul Hawley (Virginia). She will be greatly missed by her loving family, son Warren and wife Sue of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, daughter Sharon Campbell and husband Daryl of Fontanelle, Iowa; six grandchildren Jennifer Woodruff (Mike) and Becky Killion (Rick) all of Jefferson, Jamie Campbell of Fontanelle, Sara Kirby (Jonathan) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Adam Campbell (Jackie) of Orient, and Laura Sutton (Simeon) of San Antonio, Texas, great-grandchildren Ethan Woodruff, Evan Woodruff, Logan Woodruff, Nickolas Killion, Lauryn Killion, Emily Campbell, Eli Campbell, Amber Campbell, Kelly Campbell, Alexis Sutton and Liam Sutton, and one on the way, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.
