Barbara Dunlop

A graveside service for Barbara Beth Dunlop was held 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson, Iowa. Pastor Debbie Griffin of the Central Christian Church of Jefferson provided words of comfort. Interment followed the service. Barbara Beth Dunlop, 90, passed away in Des Moines, WA on August 26, 2013. Known as "Bobby" she was born in Jefferson, Iowa on January 6, 1923. Iowa was her home state until she moved to Kent, WA in the mid-1940's where she loved teaching in a public elementary school. She returned home each summer to be with her parents, Roger and Hazel Dunlop, and visit her brother Charles, her sister Georgia and their families. In her retirement years she remained in Kent, where she enjoyed trips to the ocean and other traveling adventures with friends, played Bingo, and she was active in her church with various Bible Studies and helping in the nursery. Despite the distance from Iowa, she was present there for most holidays and many important family events. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Charles. She is survived by her sister, Georgia Hays, two nieces, three nephews and their families.
