Barbara Creveling, 67, of Waukee, passed away at her home following a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on January 13, 1956, in Austin, Minnesota, Barbie was the fourth child of Robert and Janice Kammerer. She graduated from Des Moines North High School in 1974 and went on to work at various places before starting her journey of spreading love and joy to the lives of many children as an in-home daycare provider. She had a special gift for connecting with children, treating each one as her own, and providing them with a nurturing environment. Barbie's genuine care and attention left a lasting impact on the young minds she touched.
In 1987, Barbie married the love of her life, Clint Creveling, at the Church of the Land at the Living History Farms. Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them, and together, they built a beautiful life filled with happiness and cherished memories.
Barbie's talents extended far beyond childcare. She was an exceptional cook and loved to share her culinary creations with family and friends. Her cheese balls were always a favorite. Additionally, Barbie had a fantastic ability to organize and host events, making sure that all life's milestones and holidays were celebrated properly.
Barbie also enjoyed writing poetry and decorating. She always made her house feel like a home no matter where she was. She loved to capture every family moment and never missed an opportunity to celebrate her loved ones. She was always the director of the show and kept everything running smoothly.
She enjoyed taking care of her flowers and loved being outdoors, enjoying what nature had to offer. She and Clint liked to travel and camp every moment they were able.
Barbie will be missed greatly by her husband, Clint; children, Casey (Anne) Melang-Thoren, Sarah (Rusty) Ameter, Colin Creveling, and Christopher (Izzy) Creveling; her 4 grandchildren, Ava, Bella, Miles, and Madeleine; along with many nieces nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Janice; and siblings, Swan Being, Cheri Knight, Kristy Jobe, and Bill Kammerer.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and/or to the family to be donated in Barbie’s memory at a later date. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.caldwellparrish.com.
